The B.C. Fencing Association together with the Canadian Fencing Federation is hosting the 2015 Peter Bakonyi World Cup Men’s Epée event in Vancouver on February 13-15, 2015.  This event hosts the top fencers in the world who are vying for spots on their respective country’s Olympic team.  We are very excited to have been chosen as the host for this prestigious international event.

We would like to invite some young fencers from around our region to come out and watch the opening ceremony & first pools portion of the event as guests with reserved seating (no charge) on Friday February 13th.  Would you be interested in securing some seating?  If so, may you please indicate by February 1st how many seats you would like as we have limited seating available?

Please note that we would prefer youth to be in grade 6 or higher to attend simply because of the length of the event and the requirement to be relatively still and quiet.

The event schedule is as follows:
  • Friday February 13th:  opening ceremony 9:45 a.m. followed by the preliminary pools for all fencers, and then the tableau to compete for top 64 spots
  • Saturday February 14th: tableau for top 64 through to gold medal match
  • Sunday February 15th: team event
Please note that tickets will be available for purchase at the door for everyone.  All tickets will enable people to attend all events for all 3 days, without restriction.  We would really appreciate any promoting you can do for our event amongst your students, members, their families and friends.
The tickets will be priced at:
  • $20 per person, 15 years & older
  • Free for youth, 14 years and younger.
Thank you in advance for your support.  We look forward to seeing you at this World Cup event.
